Ministries

"Let the little children to come to Me; and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

KIDS Ministry

The Kids Ministry at Whitton Avenue Bible Church exists to glorify God through teaching & evangelizing children, encouraging parents and edifying servants so that our children will hear the gospel, families may be supported and the church may be strengthened.

While we believe it is the responsibility of the parents to teach and model Christ for their children, we want to be an active part of the body of Christ and come along side parents in teaching the Word and presenting the gospel to the children.  Since salvation is of the Lord, we avoid soliciting professions of faith but encourage the fruit of genuine repentance as demonstrated through a life of submission to Christ as Lord.  Our role is to help prepare the hearts of the children through teaching the Word, presenting the gospel and living out a fruitful life as an example to follow.

Parents have a mandate to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4, Col. 3:21, Prov. 22:6). The church has the responsibility to encourage, equip and edify parents (Ephesians 4:12-16).  We strive to equip parents through corporate teaching, Bible studies, classes and personal shepherding.  We also strive to assist parents by providing childcare and teaching for birth-12th grade during our Sunday School Hour and birth-7 years of age during the 11:00am corporate service.  Lastly, we strive to encourage parents by providing opportunities for their families to enjoy shared experiences at church. Families will have the opportunity to worship the Lord together through praise and music before the children’s Beginner Church class begins.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Student Ministry

Through Sunday morning classes and monthly Youth Group gatherings, students from 7th – 12th grade are taught God’s Word, encouraged in their relationship with Jesus, and given opportunities to serve others.

As young people move through their teenage years into adulthood, it is important that they are rooted in God’s Word, established in godly living, and strongly connected to a fellowship of other believers.

Men’s Ministry

Men’s ministry is dedicated to teaching, training and encouraging men to be godly leaders in their homes, communities and in the church. The ministry works through Bible study and other events to strengthen the bond we have to Christ and with one another, and increase our knowledge of God’s Word.

Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

Women’s Ministry

Women’s Ministry seeks to nurture the desire for God’s Word, the eagerness to learn and serve, and the commitment to one another and the community as followers of Christ Jesus. Women of all ages and experiences are edified through Bible Studies and gatherings held throughout the year.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Missions

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."

Global missions

"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples"

Whitton Avenue Bible Church partners with national and global missionaries and ministries  through prayer, financial support and involvement from our church family. We are thankful for those whom God has called to be his ambassadors and witnesses as they live, work and serve among various people groups all over the world.

Our global outreach commitment flows through two main categories: partner missionaries and partner ministries. Our Missions Team maintains frequent communication with our missionaries, and meets regularly for focused prayer.
